What does RSS stand for? RSS (RDF Site Summary – formerly known as Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) is a technique of presenting news or other web content that is available for syndication and distribution to the actual reading audience. In order to publish content such as news headlines or stories, the given web site creates a description of that content and its location within the site in the form of an RSS document. Hotlink Protection
This feature is designed to prohibit others from using your images on their websites at your expense by preventing direct external linking to your image files of the following types: .gif, jpg, .bmp. Linking to these files will be possible only from your own website. For example, if you try to access an image by entering http://www.live.demo/image.gif into a browser with the Hotlink Protection feature enabled, you will receive a Forbidden error page, whereas that same image will display correctly if linked to any page from your website. Hotlinking can be enabled for an individual directory or for your entire website, by protecting only the website route directory. |

IP blocking
This tool blocks specified IPs from accessing your website. If you want to block a given range of IPs, specify only the first string of numbers and leave the rest blank. For example, to block all IPs in the 227.xxx.xxx.xxx range, you should enter 227, for range 227.125.xxx.xxx, the entry should be 227.125, and so on. Mind you that although the blocked IPs will not be able to access any of your web pages, they will still show up in your Access Log, since the web server displays a "403 - Forbidden" message for them. |
